Government Issues Directives to Ensure Economical Use of Electricity and Energy

In response to the ongoing global energy crisis, the Bangladesh government has directed all government, autonomous, statutory bodies, corporations, and other offices to adopt strict measures for the prudent and responsible use of electricity and fuel.
The Cabinet Division issued these instructions on 6 march, emphasizing the need for officials and employees to conserve energy through everyday practices in the workplace.
Unnecessary electrical appliances must remain switched off during working hours, including extra lights, fans, air conditioners, and other devices unless absolutely required. For air conditioners, the temperature should be set at or above 25 degrees Celsius.
The guidelines further says that unnecessary lighting in corridors, staircases, and washrooms should also be stopped.
