Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 to Start on February 25

The Bangla Academy has announced that the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 will now start on 25 February, which is five days later than the earlier announced date of 20 February.

This decision was made during a views-exchange meeting held on 19 February at the Shaheed Munir Chowdhury conference room of Bangla Academy.

But due to the holy month of Ramadan, some publishers requested that the fair be held after Eid, saying it would be difficult for them to take part otherwise. They also sought the intervention of Tarique Rahman, the BNP Chairman and Prime Minister.

Traditionally, the Amar Ekushey Book Fair begins on 1 February. However, this year’s schedule was adjusted due to the circumstances surrounding the 13th parliamentary election and the holy month of Ramadan.
