PM Tarique Rahman Vows to Restore Peace, Security, and Equal Rights

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman declared that the newly elected BNP government’s foremost priority is to restore peace and security by strengthening law enforcement.

“The main priority of our government is to restore peace and security in the minds of the people by improving the law-and-order situation and strictly controlling corruption,” he said on state broadcaster BTV on Wednesday.

Tarique Rahman said BNP government believes that party, opinion, religion, and philosophy may differ individually, but the state belongs to all.

The Prime Minister extended warm greetings to the nation on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
He said- “Ramadan is a month dedicated to self-purification, If we genuinely embrace its true spirit, this month should not add to people’s hardships. Yet, many among us tend to pursue excessive profits in business during this time.”

He appealed to businessmen to avoid treating Ramadan as an opportunity for making extra profit.

He also addressed the urgent need of employment and youth development. He said ““If we equip ourselves with knowledge and skills, Bangladesh will be ready for the global market. In the era of artificial intelligence, every citizen must excel in a field to thrive with dignity and stability. Our government is committed to providing all support to students and youth to build competence, create jobs, and ensure a productive work environment.”

He further addressed the traffic issue. He said traffic congestion in divisional cities, especially the capital Dhaka, is almost uncontrollable, causing immense public suffering in daily life.

He said- “As part of this plan, the activities of the ministries of railways, shipping, roads and bridges are being reorganised and coordinated. We believe that making the railway communication system across the country easy, affordable and safe and this will not only reduce people’s dependence on city-centred living, but also improve the environment.”

Recalling his return to the country after almost 18 years. He also mentioned his statement on December 25 last year, when he said, “I have a plan” for the country and its people. He explained that during his election campaign across the country before the February 12 national election, he had shared many parts of that plan.

By voting for the BNP ,the party founded by the proclaimer of independence the people have given it the responsibility to govern and the chance to carry out its plans, he said.

Now it is the duty of the BNP government to keep its promises, he added. He noted that the work to implement them has already started.
