The facility has started at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations and will soon be launched at Delhi Junction (Old Delhi) and Anand Vihar Terminal. It will be available 24×7.

According to Northern Railway, the lockers are meant to help passengers who have long waiting times between trains or want to step out without carrying heavy luggage.

“The lockers use a digital, OTP-based access system, allowing passengers to deposit and retrieve their belongings securely,” said Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer, Northern Railway.

How to use the digital locker

2.  Select locker size and duration.
3.  Pay via digital modes like Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe.
4.  Place luggage inside and close the locker.
5.  To retrieve, enter registered mobile number, verify OTP and select ‘Release’ option.
