Delhi_Minor Girl Raped and Murdered in Swaroop Nagar, 4 Arrested Including 3 Minors

New Delhi : In a shocking incident from North Delhi, Delhi Police has arrested four people, including three juveniles, for the rape and murder of a minor girl in Swaroop Nagar.

The girl’s body was found on the morning of September 13 in an open field near Jaipal Rana’s field on Lal Boundary, Kushak Road. Initially, the police could not identify the girl. Her body was sent for post-mortem.

Cracked in 72 Hours with 50+ CCTV Cameras
Police checked footage from more than 50 CCTV cameras. They noticed a suspicious tempo moving near the spot at night. Due to darkness, its number plate was not clear at first.

The police team tracked the tempo’s route through different cameras and finally found it parked in Khadda Colony, Swaroop Nagar during a night-long search on September 15-16. After questioning the driver, all four accused were caught.

One accused has been identified as Shivam (19), alias Sudama alias Chuchu, a resident of Khadda Colony. The other three are juveniles.

Police said all of them were neighbours and knew the victim well.

Outer North DCP Shobhit D. Saxena said, “The prime accused Shivam and the victim were in a relationship. All five were friends. They had met, an argument started, and then they sexually assaulted and killed her.”

Police are also checking if the accused had consumed alcohol or drugs at the time of the crime.

Case Registered:
A case has been registered at Swaroop Nagar police station under sections of murder, rape of a girl under 16, destruction of evidence, and Section 6 of the POCSO Act.

Police have recovered two knives used in the murder, the clothes worn by the accused, and the tempo.

Further investigation is underway to find out the exact role of each accused.
