NCP Announces Plans to Form Shadow Cabinet : Asif Mahmud

National Citizen Party (NCP) spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain revealed on Sunday that the party is gearing up to establish a “shadow cabinet” to monitor the incoming administration.


In a post on his verified Facebook page at 10:16 am, Asif Mahmud wrote: “We are preparing to form a shadow cabinet.” He further explained its purpose, saying, “The shadow cabinet will work to ensure transparency and accountability and act as a watchdog over overall activities.”


This comes right after the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum held on February 12. Where BNP secured 212 constituencies, Jamaat-e-Islami led alliance secured 77 seats, Independent candidates secured seven seats and Islami Andolon secured one seat.
