Hyderabad:In a moment that underscores the growing global stature of India’s premier technical institutions, a computer science engineering student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has secured a staggering ₹2.5 crore annual package — the highest ever recorded in the institute’s history.According to information shared by the institute and reported by *The Times of India*, the offer came from a Netherlands-based multinational technology firm during the 2024–25 placement season. The package reportedly includes a combination of base salary, performance-linked bonuses, stock options, and international allowances, reflecting the global demand for advanced technical talent from Indian campuses.IIT Hyderabad, one of the newer IITs established in 2008, has steadily risen in academic and research rankings, particularly in computer science, artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies. Over the past few years, the institute has attracted major recruiters from Europe, the US, and Asia, especially in domains such as machine learning, semiconductor design, fintech, and software engineering.Placement officials noted that this year’s season has been exceptional overall. The institute reportedly witnessed an approximate 75% jump in average salary packages, signalling a robust recovery and expansion in hiring despite global economic uncertainties.
