Former Bangladesh lieutenant threatens to not let India live in peace unless Hasina is returned; but hopes people of West Bengal will cooperate

The International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh has sentenced Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to death for crimes against humanity. After the verdict on Monday, members of radical Islamic organizations were seen celebrating in front of the High Court. The extremists hugged each other while chanting slogans like “This is the news, the murderer Hasina has been hanged.”

Fahim Farooqui, the convener of a radical Islamic organization called ‘Manch 24’, said, ‘O Allah, the owner of the throne, protect our Bangladesh with your mercy. Here are those who were missing, whose beautiful youth has been cut off from their lives. Sheikh Hasina, hang them in front of the people the time she has taken from our lives and give them the punishment of hell.’ In his prayer, he said, ‘O Allah, those who have been tortured and slaughtered like animals on this earth, scholars. Allah, you have seen them. At the end of the day, you have given us victory. Those who are still guilty, Allah, hang each of them on the gallows. Grant us the ability to ensure the justice of July on this earth. May all the murders be judged on this earth. May no one in the world be able to take possession of even a single drop of our state.’

In the immediate reaction after the verdict, retired Lieutenant Colonel Hasinur Rahman, a hardline Islamist, said on the platform, “I cannot explain our joy. Thank God, we have got justice. I will not rest until this judgment is implemented, but I am still smiling. The only mastermind of this revolution is Almighty God, He is the one who gave the judgment. We all expressed our gratitude by prostrating ourselves.”

He expressed hope that the Chief Advisor will be able to bring Sheikh Hasina back to the country through legal assistance. Hasinur said, “The help of the Indian people is very necessary to bring Hasina back. The Indian people will help us, God willing, the people of West Bengal will help us. We will get justice. If we don’t, we will be giving shelter to Indian terrorists, India will not be at peace.”
