ED conducts extensive search operation at 25 locations including Al-Falah University office

Faridabad, November 18: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its investigation into the financial transactions of Al-Falah University, which is linked to the terrorists arrested in the car blast case near Delhi’s Red Fort. It is conducting intensive searches at 25 places, including the university’s office, on Tuesday. After conducting raids at the 70-acre Okhla University office in Faridabad, Haryana, the Enforcement Directorate officials are now conducting intensive searches at 25 premises of the controversial private medical college.

The November 10 blast was allegedly hatched at the same university, and in this context, the central government has ordered an investigation into the financial accounts of Al Falah University. It has directed the Economic Crimes Wing to examine the functioning of the university.

Al Falah University, spread over 70 acres of land, is a private medical college located about 27 km from the Delhi-Haryana border. Dr. Umar Mohammad, the driver of the Hyundai i20 car killed in the blast in Delhi, was a doctor from the same university. Also, Dr. Shaheen Saeed, Dr. Adil Rather and Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, who were arrested in the case, were also associated with the university. Investigators in the case have recovered more incriminating evidence from Dr. Muzammil Shakeel’s house, including coded messages in the diaries of the two doctors.

It is learnt that the arrested doctor terrorists used to meet secretly in Dr. Muzammil’s room of the university to discuss their terrorist plans. There are allegations that some chemicals were smuggled from the university laboratory for use in making bombs. Following all these allegations, ED officials are conducting extensive searches by raiding the university offices.
