NCPCR Orders District-Level Probe into Allegations of Harassment at PES University

In a groundbreaking move, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has mandated a swift investigation into widespread abuse allegations against officials at PES University in Bengaluru. The officials now face a tight 7-day deadline to submit their findings.
This historic decision comes in response to an impassioned campaign for justice and accountability led by the All India Student’s Union (AISU) and digital media outlet NewsTapOne. NewsTapOne’s founding editor, Sai Ram B, a prominent student activist leading AISU’s media division, played a crucial role in bringing national attention to the tragic suicide of 19-year-old Aditya Prabhu, a PES student, allegedly driven to end his life by sustained harassment from university officials.

Sources tell NewsTapOne.com: “The NCPCR’s shocking conclusion that these accusations could amount to “cruelty and harassment” under national child protection laws sets the stage for an unprecedented district-level probe into PES University’s actions, potentially establishing far-reaching precedents.”
In a statement, AISU emphasized the need for authorities to take the matter seriously and urged a transparent and prompt investigation.
Thanks to the digital news network NewsTapOne which has started a campaign specifically for welfare of students ‘ #Toxic Classrooms’ . We are very grateful and happy that a inquiry will be conducted on PES University regarding suicides by students in their campus due to behaviour of their faculty and management . And we hope that a honest and thorough investigation will be done. I really want to thank AISU for taking an initiative on this and following up on it. This is definitely a step forward in #justiceforadityaprabhu. And I hope that such incidents will be prevented in the future.
