Jamaat-i-Islami chief narrowly escapes suicide attack in Balochistan’s Zhob

According to authorities, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq barely avoided a “suicide attack” on his convoy in Balochistan’s Zhob on Friday, while six others were hurt. Sher Ali Mandokhail, Station House Officer (SHO) of the city police station, informed reporters that all of the injured were being treated at Civil Hospital, Zhob, with one in serious condition.

He stated Haq’s vehicle was partially damaged in the incident, but the JI emir was unharmed. The official went on to say that a body discovered near the bomb site was that of the “suicide attacker.” The JI also stated in a tweet that Haq, who was in the region to address a political meeting, was safe and that the assailant had been killed.

PM Shehbaz condemns attack

The Balochistan government has been ordered to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and bring the criminals to justice, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who “strongly” denounced the suicide attack.
