Tenders invited for Bengaluru Business Corridor’s Rs 3,348 first package

BENGALURU, India — The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) officially launched the bidding process for the first phase of the rebranded Bengaluru Business Corridor (formerly the Peripheral Ring Road) on Monday, March 30, 2026. This initial contract, valued at ₹3,348 crore, covers a 23 km stretch connecting Tumakuru Road to Airport Road (Ballari Road), intersecting Doddaballapur Road. By splitting the massive 73 km project into three separate packages, officials have bypassed historical land acquisition hurdles, successfully securing approximately 83% of the required land for this specific leg, which includes a significant portion of government and forest land.
The project will follow a three-year construction timeline, with the BDA introducing several design upgrades, including three major clover-leaf interchanges at Madavara, Doddaballapur Road, and Ballari Road to ensure seamless traffic flow. To maintain financial stability for the long-delayed project, the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has sanctioned a ₹27,000 crore line of credit. While officials expect to issue work orders within the next two and a half months following the May 4 tender deadline, some local landowners continue to challenge the project in court, citing concerns over compensation and the rebranding of the corridor.
