Bengaluru Techie Jumps From 17th Floor After Finding Husband Dead At Home
A tragic double-death incident shook Bengaluru’s Kothanur area on Monday, March 30, 2026, with the details confirmed by authorities on March 31. A 31-year-old software engineer, identified as Shaziya, an employee at IBM, reportedly jumped to her death from the 17th floor of her residential building shortly after discovering the body of her 32-year-old partner, Bhanu Chander Reddy Kunta. Bhanu, a software engineer originally from Siddipet, Telangana, was found dead by hanging inside a locked room at their shared apartment. The discovery was made after Shaziya grew suspicious of his silence and alerted apartment security and neighbors, who helped force the door open only to find him unresponsive.
According to preliminary police investigations, the extreme step taken by Shaziya occurred within minutes of the grim discovery before any bystanders could intervene. While the exact motive remains under investigation, officials suggest a combination of marital strain and health issues may have led to the tragedy. The couple shared a nine-year history, having recently transitioned from a long-term live-in relationship to marriage.
Kothanur police have registered two separate cases of unnatural death and are currently awaiting post-mortem reports to further clarify the sequence of events that led to this devastating outcome.
