Kolkata Bracing for HS Exams, Traffic Restrictions in Place

Kolkata is gearing up for the Higher Secondary Exams, which kick off tomorrow, February 12. To ensure smooth traffic flow, the Kolkata Police has announced restrictions on goods vehicles within city limits (excluding Bhangar division) from 6 am to 12 noon on exam dates.

Emergency vehicles like ambulances, LPG, petroleum, and medicine carriers will be allowed until 8 am. There are 134 examination centers in Kolkata, with 32,256 candidates appearing for the exams.

The exams will run from February 12 to 27, covering Semester IV, Semester III supplementary, and the old annual system. Students are advised to reach centers by 9 am and follow strict security protocols, including CCTV surveillance and metal detectors.
