Sensational video found on phone recovered from sewer; Detectives shocked by new information in Delhi blast case

Delhi : New shocking details have emerged in the Red Fort blast case. Investigators have said that a video has been recovered from the mobile phone of accused militant Dr. Umar Nabi, in which he calls the attack a “martyrdom operation”. Officials involved in the investigation into the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) module said that the video was recorded by Umar himself on his phone.

On the night of the blast, Umar handed over the phone to his younger brother. Later, during interrogation by the Jammu and Kashmir police, the brother confessed that he had thrown the phone into a drain on Umar’s instructions. The police later searched the drain and were able to recover the phone.

A police source said that the phone has been sent for forensic examination and at least four videos have been recovered so far. One of them has now come to light. The recovered video material has also been shared with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the State Investigation Agency (SIA). During the investigation, Umar’s associates said that Umar was the most extremist among the Jaish module and used to regularly talk about planning suicide attacks.

Meanwhile, police are conducting a major operation in North Delhi and adjoining areas after the blast near the Red Fort on November 10. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia said that cases have been registered against 250 people so far for allegedly collecting proper documents from tenants and renting out rooms in lodges without proper documents. Besides, several lodges and small guesthouses are also being monitored regularly.
