Just 10 Days After Terrible Red Fort Blast, Delhi Schools Receive Bomb Threat Emails

Today, on Thursday(20 November) morning, at least three private schools in New Delhi received a bomb threat via emails, which has triggered immediate security action. The three schools include, ‘The British School’ and ‘Sanskriti School’ in Chanakyapuri, and ‘Modern School’ in Barakhamba. As an immediate response to this, bomb disposal squads, a dog squad, and fire services were deployed at these school campuses. And as informed by the police and school authorities, the officers have carried out a search operation. Though no suspicious objects have been found yet, the unrest among the concerned people are prominent. 

These incidents have raised tension among the school authorities, guardians, and also within the students. According to different reports, the alert has also made the other nearby schools in the area worried. Moreover, it has raised the fear regarding the safety of the students across the capital. 

What makes the people more worried is that these bomb threat emails have come just ten days after the deadly car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, which injured many and left at least eight people dead. These threats have deepened the unease, mainly among the guardians and school authorities who are already terrified from the recent Red Fort Blast.

According to the reports, the authorities have launched an investigation to find out the origin of the emails, and security of those targeted schools has been tightened. While this morning there was no physical threat, last week’s Red Fort incident has made the situation a serious matter of concern.
