Spoke To Another Man, Stabbed To Death: DU Student, 21, Murdered At Home In Tilak Nagar

New Delhi: A 21-year-old Delhi University student was stabbed to death multiple times inside her own home in West Delhi, allegedly by a man who was enraged that she was talking to someone else.

The accused, identified as Aqib alias Imran, a former gym trainer, is absconding. Delhi Police has formed 15 teams to arrest him.

The victim, Muskan, a second-year student of DU’s School of Open Learning, lived with her family near Mangla Hospital in Tilak Nagar. She was the youngest of four siblings.

According to police, Imran knew the victim for about one and a half years. He had been angry for the last two months because she was talking to another person.

On Wednesday evening, around 5:40 PM, CCTV captured him entering her building. The girl was alone at home. An argument broke out, after which he allegedly attacked her with a knife and fled.

The crime came to light at 7:24 PM when a PCR call was made to Tilak Nagar Police Station after the house help found her lying injured on the second floor.

She was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Family Says He Was Stalking Her, A friend of the victim, Aman, told reporters, “Her elder sister called me from Chandigarh saying she had been stabbed. The accused had been pursuing her for a long time.”

The victim’s brother, on whose statement a murder case has been registered, suspects Imran is behind the murder.

DCP Hareshwar V Swami said crime and forensic teams inspected the spot and further investigation is underway.

Police are scanning more CCTV footage and conducting raids across Delhi to trace the accused.
