India Criticises Asim Munir’s Nuclear Warning at U.S. Event

11 August- Kolkata, India: On Monday, India criticised the Chief of the Marshal of Pakistan, Asim Munir, who made a threat of nuclear strikes at an event in the United States.

“Nuclear sabre-rattling is Pakistan’s stock-in-trade and is evidence of the links between the country’s military and terrorist groups,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated in a statement.

MEA on Asim Munir and the US

The Ministry of External Affairs(MEA) criticised the thoughts of the Pakistan’s Chief field Marshal Asim Munir and futher added that “The international community can draw its own conclusions on the irresponsibility inherent in such remarks, which also reinforce the well-held doubts about the integrity of nuclear command and control in a state where the military is hand-in-glove with terrorist groups.”

The MEA also pointed out that such sentiments were receiving an opportunity from the US. The MEA highlighted the role of the US on this issue and said, “It is also regrettable that someone made these remarks from the soil of a friendly third country.”

Asim Munir’s Threat on India

According to some sources, Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff, Asim Munir, threatened its close neighbour India on multiple occasions. Even last week, during a dinner arrangement in the US state of Florida, he stated that Pakistan was a nuclear nation and that if they thought they were going down, they would take half the world down with them.

In response to the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, Munir also threatened to blow up India’s dams: “We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, phir 10 missile sey faarigh kar dengey [we will destroy it with 10 missiles]. The Indus river is not the Indians’ family property. Humein missilon ki kami nahin hai, al-Hamdulillah [we have no shortage of missiles, Praise be to God].”

The MEA further added assurance and stated that they will take all necessary steps to protect its citizens and safeguard national security from any sort of terrorist attacks.

India closely monitors Pakistan

India reportedly demanded that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) keep a close eye on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons, citing the country’s reckless statements.

Rajnath Singh, the Defense Minister of India highlighted on the issue and said “Pakistan’s reckless nuclear threats have not deterred India’s resolve to eliminate terrorism. I ask the global community — are nuclear weapons safe in the hands of such an irresponsible and rogue nation? These weapons must come under IAEA supervision.”

In a separate statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that India had once again exposed Pakistan’s nuclear bluff with Operation Sindoor. India would never submit to nuclear blackmail, he added.

Under Donald Trump, Pakistan and the United States have become closer, which coincided with Munir’s remarks. Trump’s recent crusade against India, which includes the recent tariff war, interference in the Kashmir dispute, undercutting India’s stance on Operation Sindoor, and more, has coincided with the tight ties between the US and Pakistan.
