PM Modi Lauds Conduct of All-Party Delegations During Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while meeting members of all-party delegations at his residence today, emphasized that the inclusion of opposition leaders in international anti-terror outreach efforts “sends a powerful message from India” to the global community, sources told NDTV.

“India has successfully conveyed its united stance against terrorism. More such delegations should visit other nations to share India’s story,” the Prime Minister was quoted as saying by sources.

The delegations, comprising over 50 individuals—mainly sitting MPs along with former parliamentarians and diplomats—visited 33 foreign capitals and the European Union to represent India’s unified voice against terrorism.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Met members of the various delegations who represented India in different countries and elaborated on India’s commitment to peace and the need to eradicate the menace of terrorism. We are all proud of the manner in which they put forward India’s voice.”

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had earlier praised the delegations for effectively articulating India’s firm position against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

Seven delegations were sent out under the government’s initiative to present a united front in the global discourse on terrorism. Four of these were led by MPs from the ruling alliance—two from the BJP, one from JD(U), and one from Shiv Sena. The remaining three were led by opposition MPs from Congress, DMK, and NCP (SP).

Notable leaders heading these delegations included BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, Congress’ Shashi Tharoor, JD(U)’s Sanjay Jha, Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Shinde, DMK’s Kanimozhi, and NCP (SP)’s Supriya Sule. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi were among those from the opposition who joined hands with members of the ruling alliance to champion India’s cause abroad.

Former Union ministers and parliamentarians such as Ghulam Nabi Azad and Salman Khurshid also participated in these diplomatic missions, further underscoring the bipartisan nature of India’s outreach
