UP Government Transfers 33 IAS, 3 IPS Officers in Big Shake-up

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government announced a major administrative reshuffle on Tuesday, transferring 33 IAS officers and three IPS officers, including district magistrates (DMs) of 11 districts, officials said.

Key Appointments and Reassignments

The government reassigned Shishir, the Director of Information, as Special Secretary of MSME and Export Promotion, and CEO of the Khadi Board. Meanwhile, Kaushal Raj Sharma, who served as Varanasi Divisional Commissioner, has become the new Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Bhadohi DM Vishal Singh will now serve as Director, Information and Culture, while S Rajlingam, previously DM Varanasi, takes over as Varanasi Divisional Commissioner.

District Magistrate Changes

The reshuffle affected DMs in several districts:

• Hapur
• Azamgarh
• Bareilly
• Ambedkar Nagar
• Ghazipur
• Jhansi
• Mahoba
• Kushinagar
• Sant Kabir Nagar
• Bhadohi

Among the changes:

• Ravindra Kumar (DM Bareilly) is now DM Azamgarh
• Navneet Singh Chahal (DM Azamgarh) becomes Special Secretary, CMO
• Avinash Singh (DM Ambedkar Nagar) replaces Kumar in Bareilly
• Anupam Shukla becomes DM Ambedkar Nagar

New Departmental Heads

• L Venkateshwarlu steps down from Transport and now handles Social Welfare, Military Welfare, and other roles.
• Amit Gupta takes charge as Principal Secretary, Transport, and also handles Stamp & Registration.
• Satyendra Kumar, earlier Special Secretary to CM, is now DM Varanasi.
• Prerna Sharma, DM Hapur, is now Director, State Urban Development Agency.
• Abhishek Pandey becomes DM Hapur.
• Sanjay Kumar Meena, earlier CDO Gorakhpur, becomes Vice President, Meerut Development Authority.
• Shashvat Tripurari now serves as CDO Gorakhpur.

• Gaurav Kumar becomes Municipal Commissioner, Lucknow, replacing Indrajit Singh, who now moves to the Energy Department.
• Harshika Singh moves from Chandauli to become CDO Prayagraj.
• Aryaka Akhouri, DM Ghazipur, takes over at Medical Health & Family Welfare.
• Avinash Kumar, DM Jhansi, is now DM Ghazipur.
• Mridul Chaudhary, previously in Mahoba, becomes DM Jhansi.
• Gajal Bhardwaj now serves as DM Mahoba.
• Mahendra Singh Tomar moves from Sant Kabir Nagar to become DM Kushinagar.
• Vishal Bhardwaj becomes Special Secretary to the CM.
• Alok Kumar takes over as DM Sant Kabir Nagar.
• Ujjwal Kumar becomes Managing Director, UP Medical Supply Corporation.
• Pulkit Khare is now Mission Director, Skill Development Mission.

IPS Transfers

Three senior IPS officers received new assignments:

• DK Thakur – ADG, Special Security Force (SSF), Lucknow
• Bhanu Bhaskar – ADG, Meerut Zone
• Dr. Sanjeev Gupta – ADG, Prayagraj Zone

The government also transferred 24 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) across the state.
