Madras HC asks Tamil Nadu to set up a State Press Council in 3 months
Madras High Court asked Tamil Nadu to set up a Press Council to counter Fake News. Madras High Court said that it is necessary to set up an ‘Press Council of Tamil Nadu’ to weed out fake journalists, mushrooming journalist associations and to regulate the distribution of Press Cards, Passes and other benefits from the Government to genuine Journalists. Madras High Court had given the deadline of 3 months.
