Shailaja Teacher Wins The Prestigious Central European University Open Society Prize

Kerala’s former health minister, Shailaja, grabs the prestigious central European university open society prize for her devoir to public health services. Open society prize is the highest civilian recognition granted by the university annually awarded to the exceptional persons who serve ideals of an open society.
The award was announced during a virtual convocation in Vienna university on Friday. It was awarded to the teacher and her public health service staff, who demonstrated a determined leadership, community-based public health, and effective communication-saving lives. She is an example and will inspire the young women to enter the public service and controlled covid cases, and gave hope to the nations. she is the bedrock of every open society, said president Michael Ignatieff.
She responded to this by narrating how the state has addressed the pandemic when reports on how it’s spreading from Wuhan. As you step into this world, there is an opportunity for everyone to change the world and write history. Find the leader in you, she added.
KK Shailaja, who is respectfully called a Shailaja teacher, said to graduate students that learning and gaining knowledge is an ongoing process and asked them to stay curious. In June 2020, she was honoured by the UN(united nations) and was welcomed to speak on the UN pubic service day regarding COVID19 management strategies in Kerala. The teacher was re-elected to the Kerala assembly from the constituency of mattannur with a record margin of more than 60000 votes.
Currently, She has been appointed as the party whip (CPI(M)) with no specific cabinet position.
