Mamata Banerjee Speaking at an election campaign rally at Jalpaiguri in north Bengal, blaming BJP said “They have got a whole lot of people into the state. In the name of election campaign, they have got so many outsiders and they have spread the disease here and run away and now they say ‘Give us the vote’.”

The candidate for whom she was campaigning at the rally, Dr Pradip Barma, was absent from the stage. He has tested positive for Covid and is in hospital with mild symptoms.  

CM Banerjee did not share these details. She only said Pradip Barma has a cold and cough and unable to attend.  

Later, while addressing a rally at Nabadwip in Nadia, she accused BJP for bringing ‘outsiders’ from Gujarat and Rajasthan and spreading Covid in the state. 

She starting blaming PM for spread of Covid, she said “Do not spread coronavirus in Bengal, Narendra Modiji. I am repeatedly saying this. Modi can visit Bengal and address rallies. But his party is bringing outsiders, these outsiders are spreading Covid in Bengal”

Yesterday, PM Narendra Modi accused Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee of “doing politics with the dead”, terming it “an old habit” of hers on an audio tape, released by BJP.

The audio tape reveals how “Didi is asking a TMC leader to keep the dead bodies. She is heard saying the party will take out a rally with the bodies,” PM Modi said at a rally in Asansol.

“The tapes show how Didi is trying to benefit from the unfortunate deaths. How far will you go for vote bank?” Modi asked.

Later the letter by TMC to EC, complaining regarding phone tapping also proved that the person in the audio tape was none other than CM Banerjee herself.

So today due to frustration she even demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should resign for mishandling the coronavirus crisis, she said “He is the man responsible for the present situation. He did not make any administrative planning for 2021”. “The BJP cannot tackle the Covid-19 spike even in Gujarat, and has brought the entire country, including West Bengal, to such a pass,” the TMC supremo said.

Mamata Didi was so frustrated that she blamed for increase in cases in Gujarat and didn’t mention a word about Maharashtra where 68,631 fresh COVID-19 cases and 503 deaths were reported in last 24 hours, the highest in the state so far since the pandemic broke out last year. Whereas, Gujarat reports 10,340 fresh coronavirus cases, 3,981 recoveries, and 110 deaths in the last 24 hours.
