“This Is India, Not North Korea”: Rahul Gandhi Slams PM Over Action Against Youth Congress Members

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of opposition launched a sharp attack on India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following police action against the members of the Indian Congress during a protest.

He drew a strong comparison to North Korea. He said ,”this is India, not North Korea” accusing the government of suppressing voices of protest instead of addressing concerns and that’s how Rahul Gandhi condemned the crackdown stating that peaceful dissent is actually a fundamental part of democracy in India.

These remarks intensified the political face-of between both the parties, the BJP and the Congress over the right to take a stand and protest in a democratic set up .
