Delhi Cop Suspended After Flaunting Sniper Rifle On Duty During BRICS Summit 2026

New Delhi: A Delhi Police constable deployed for high-security duty during the 18th BRICS Summit has been suspended after his social media reels showing him flaunting firearms, including a sniper rifle, went viral.
The constable has been identified as Deepak. A departmental enquiry has also been initiated against him, officials confirmed on Monday.
The videos were originally posted by Deepak himself on his social media handle.
In one of the viral reels, the constable is seen stationed atop a high-rise building, taking aim with a sniper rifle. The video clearly shows the surrounding buildings and the security vantage point from the terrace, raising serious security concerns.
In another video, apparently shot at the same location during daytime, Deepak is seen posing for the camera in plain clothes, with his service handgun prominently visible in his holster.
A third video shows other security personnel deployed at the site as the camera pans across the view from the terrace.
The videos sparked major controversy as they appeared to compromise a sensitive security location and revealed deployment details and weapons during a high-security international summit attended by world leaders.
