Jharkhand Air Ambulance Crash: TMC Demands Transparent Probe into Ranchi-Delhi Tragedy
Trinamool Congress (TMC), the ruling party in West Bengal recently officially called for a “thorough and transparent investigation” related to the tragic air ambulance crash incident that happened in Jharkhand on February 23, 2026. The Jharkhand air ambulance crash observed a Beechcraft C90 King Air Ambulance (VT-AJV), which was operated by Redbird Airways Pvt. Ltd. During this crash, 7 people on board lost their lives, among which a 41- year old burn patient was being shifted for advanced treatment. This plane crashed in the forested Karmatand area of Chatra district, Jharkhand, while en route from Ranchi to Delhi. The flight took off at 7.11 pm and then lost radar approximately 23 minutes later at 7.34 pm, though after requesting a deviation due to bad weather. Following the incident, TMC in a post on X (formerly Twitter), urges authorities to ascertain the precise cause of the crash and implement robust safeguards to prevent future tragedies.
The party further expressed “profound sorrow” and stretched its deepest condolences to the bereaved families. As of now, official action has been observed. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and the DGCA launched formal investigations related to this incident. The teams dispatched to the site to recover the black box.
