“I was abruptly asked to leave the stage”, Mimi Chakraborty alleges harassment at the cultural event

Mimi Chakraborty, a Tollywood actress and former TMC MP, has accused a cultural event organising club in Bongaon of harassment.

On Sunday night, Naya Gopal Gunj Jubok Sangha organised a musical event where Mimi was to perform. The sources state that the star was scheduled to be on stage at 10:30 pm. However, according to the organisers, she arrived late and started her performance at 11:45 pm.

The organizers said that police had permitted them to continue the event till midnight. They had to stop her in between her performances due to the strict police guidelines.

Mimi took to social media, claiming that Tanay Shastri, the office-bearer, came on stage and asked her to leave while she was just starting to perform. She wrote, โ€œIt was so sudden that I couldn’t understand what was happening.โ€ She said it was very humiliating for her as the incident happened in front of the public. After leaving the stage, she called the Bongaon Police and filed a complaint of harassment.

The club has rejected harassment accusations and said that they had humbly requested her to leave the stage. Shastri, the office-bearer, said they did not misbehave with the star and that they did not intend to insult her. He claimed, โ€œ It was Mimi and her bouncers who misbehaved.โ€

The Bongaon Police is looking into the matter, and further investigation is underway.
