Kolkata Police Nab Inter-State Drug Trafficker, Seize Cannabis Worth Lakhs

A large quantity of ganja has been recovered in a significant anti-drug operation in Kolkata. The two arrested are residents of West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. One of them is a resident of Durgapur village and the other is a resident of Durgapur village. Police are interrogating the accused to find out the motive behind the crime and their possible international links. The investigation into the recent drug recovery operation by the Kolkata Police is still in its early stages. Police could not identify the mastermind or other members of the gang.

On the other hand, coordination is being enhanced with the police of Odisha, Jharkhand and other neighbouring states for information sharing and joint operations. Emphasis will be laid on collecting advance information on trafficking through regular meetings. The checking will be intensified by using modern scanning instruments at the checkposts to detect the kind of secret chambers that the smugglers are creating in the vehicles.
