Gaza weeps as child death toll rises to 100, according to UN

The United Nations,on Tuesday,announced that over 100 children had been struck dead by the Israeli State’s air strikes and ground forces since the prelude to a tumultous ceasefire three months ago.

In Gaza,which has transformed into a theatre of pogrom,owing to the unilateral military offensive unleashed by the Netanyahu-led Zionsist regime,millions of slain journalists,civilians,emaciated children,dilapilated hospitals and educational instituions have shaken the conscience of the European Union and major world powers like Britain,Canada and Australia;all of whom had condemned Israel’s genocidal actions with the three countries imposing sanctions against far-right Minister of National Security and Finance Minister-Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.

According to the UN children’s agency UNICEF the lives of over 40 girls and 60 boys have been claimed by the IDF whose settler colonialist policies and actions have transformed Gaza into the world’s largest open air prison and had orchestrated the Nakba(1948) leading to an ethnic cleansing that claimed the lives of one-third of the Palestinian populace.

“More than 100 children have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire,” UNICEF spokesman James Elder told reporters in Geneva. Speaking from Gaza city,Elder added “That’s roughly a girl or a boy killed here every day during a ceasefire.

Acknowledging that the toll was much monumental,he said “We are at 100 — no doubt.A ceasefire that slows the bombs is progress but one that still buries children is not enough.”
