Stall Fire at Baghajatin Station Disrupts Sealdah South Local Trains

Train services on Eastern Railway’s Sealdah South section were briefly affected on Monday morning after a fire broke out ar Baghajatin railway station in South Kolkata, officials said.

According to officials, a stall on the station platform caught fire around 6 a.m, leading to thick smoke that spread across the area and disrupted normal operations.

As a precaution, services on the down line were suspended for nearly half an hour. Fire and emergency services were alerted immediately, and three fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze. The fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes, officials added.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and an investigation has been initiated, they said.
