27 Indians Trafficked to Myanmar for Cyber Scams Rescued, Return Home Safely

Twenty-seven Indian nationals who were trafficked to Myanmar after being lured with false job offers , have been successfully rescued and brought back to India, officials said on Saturday.

The victims arrived in Delhi and are now travelling to their respective hometowns to reunite with their families. According to authorities, the individuals were promised legitimate employment but were instead taken to areas near the Myanmar border, where they were forced to work in illegal cyber scam operations.

Officials said that the victims were subjected to coercion, physical abuse and harsh conditions during their captivity. The rescue was carried out following coordinated efforts to secure their release and ensure their safe return.

The incident has once again highlighted the growing threat of human trafficking linked to cyber fraud networks, with authorities urging job seekers to verify overseas employment offers carefully to avoid falling prey to such scams.
