Today on 10th January, the 53rd edition of the New Delhi World Book Fair began at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital. The nine-day event will bring together publishers, authors, readers, and cultural representatives from India and abroad.

Over 1,000 publishers from more than 35 countries are participating in the fair, which will be inaugurated by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The theme for this yearโ€™s fair is โ€œIndian Military History: Valour and Wisdom @75.โ€

The Theme Pavilion features over 500 books related to military history and will host more than 100 theme-based events. Books in English, Hindi, and several Indian languages are available across genres including history, art, culture, cinema, biographies, childrenโ€™s literature, and heritage.

A major highlight of the fair is the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya, a digital library providing access to 6,000 free eBooks. Special programmes such as Authorโ€™s Connect, Yuva Corner, Child Authorsโ€™ Corner, and cultural performances are also part of the event.
