Kolkata Metro Purple Line Service Boost

Great news of commuters of Kolkata Metro Purple Line: today, Monday, December 1, 2025, the level of service will be increased and the operating hours will be extended. These modifications will facilitate the traffic flow and assist the passengers that utilise Eastern Railway local trains, which start at the station of Majerhat.

Service Details:

• Increased Trains: Weekday services have increased from 80 to 84 daily trains, with 42 services in each direction between Joka and Majerhat.
• Revised Timings:
  • First Train from Joka: Now departs at 6:40 am (previously 6:50 am) .
  • First Train from Majerhat: Now departs at 7:03 am (previously 7:14 am) .
  • Last Train from Joka: Now departs at 9:05 pm (previously 8:36 pm) .
  • Last Train from Majerhat: Now departs at 9:26 pm (previously 8:57 pm) .
• Weekend Services: Saturday services were introduced from November 22, 2025, with 40 services running . Services on Sundays remain suspended .
