Amit Shah Offers Prayers at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja With Family

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday offered prayers at the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati in Mumbai along with his family, marking the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi festivities.

Shah was accompanied by his son, ICC Chairman Jay Shah, and other family members as they performed rituals and sought blessings from Lord Ganesha at the popular pandal that draws lakhs of devotees each year. Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and CM Devendra Fadnavis were also present.

The Home Minister, who arrived in Mumbai on Friday night, held a meeting earlier in the day with Deputy CM Shinde at the state government’s Sahyadri Guest House. The meeting was also attended by RSS joint general secretary Atul Limaye, Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan, and newly appointed Mumbai BJP chief Ameet Satam, news agencies reported.

Later, Shah visited the official residence of CM Fadnavis before heading to the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal. Videos from the event showed the Home Minister offering flowers, touching the feet of the Ganesh idol, and participating in rituals amid tight security and the large gathering of devotees.

Continuing his annual tradition, Shah is also scheduled to visit Ganesh pandals in Bandra West and Andheri East.

Taking to his official X account, the Union Minister shared pictures of his visit to CM Fadnavis’ residence and his interaction with state leaders.

The 10-day Ganeshotsav festivities, which began on August 27 with Ganesh Chaturthi, are being celebrated across Maharashtra with grandeur. Lalbaugcha Raja, considered one of the most revered Ganesh pandals in the country, continues to witness visits from political leaders, celebrities, and thousands of devotees every day.
