PM Modi Sends a Clear Message

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong message to the nation on Monday, just two days before the United States enforces a 50 percent tariff on Indian exports. He admitted that pressure may rise but assured that India will face it with confidence. He stressed that the government will not allow external pressure to weaken Indiaโ€™s resolve.

Protection of Farmers and Small Businesses

Modi reaffirmed his priority of protecting farmers, workers, and small-scale industries. He said that India will not compromise on their welfare, even if it means paying a heavy price. By highlighting the importance of the agricultural sector, he urged people to support local products and strengthen the โ€œMade in Indiaโ€ campaign.

US Tariffs Deadline Approaches

From August 27, the United States will impose additional duties that will raise tariffs on Indian goods to 50 percent. The move primarily affects steel, textiles, aluminum, and technology exports. Experts have warned that Indian exporters may face serious cost challenges. However, the government has already started working on solutions to minimize the damage.

Indiaโ€™s Steps to Cushion the Blow

Officials confirmed that India is exploring new trade markets and providing possible support measures for exporters. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that India approaches negotiations with the US with a very open mind. He also emphasized that India will continue to protect its economic interests while keeping diplomatic channels active.

Resilience and Opportunity in Adversity

Modi reminded citizens that India has a history of converting challenges into opportunities. He said the same spirit will guide the nation during this trade crisis. By focusing on self-reliance, innovation, and global partnerships, the government aims to turn this pressure into a chance for long-term growth.

Ongoing Talks With Washington

Trade talks between India and the US remain ongoing. Diplomats from both sides are working to find common ground that protects national interests. Modi stated that India will stand firm against external pressure and emerge stronger with unity, resilience, and determination.
