Sensational twist in the Shanta Pal case, video recorded on the India-Nepal-China border, intelligence agencies’ suspicions point to espionage!

Kolkata : One after another, sensational information is coming to the Lalbazar detectives about the young woman Shanta Pal. The more she is being interrogated, the more new aspects of her mysterious activities are being revealed. The most worrying thing is that the detectives have come to know that Shanta Pal had gone to the India-Nepal-China border and recorded videos of sensitive areas.

The incident raises the question, was she working as a spy like Jyoti Malhotra? Although Jyoti Malhotra was found to be an Indian citizen but was working for Pakistan, it is still unclear for which country Shanta Pal was working. Kolkata Police has launched a thorough investigation into the matter.

Bangladeshi and Fake Indian Documents

Last Monday, the Park Street police arrested Shanta from a flat in Kolkata’s Golf Green. The police became suspicious due to inconsistencies in the documents she provided while applying for a passport. Based on that, the police started investigating and received one sensational piece of information after another. During the arrest, several documents from Bangladesh were recovered from Shanta’s flat.

After taking her into custody and interrogating her, the police confirmed that she was a Bangladeshi citizen and had come to India in 2023. Since then, she has been staying here with a companion. But her passport and visa had expired. According to Lalbazar sources, in this situation, she created various Indian documents including Aadhaar card, ration card through a broker’s ring. Although the Aadhaar card is from Burdwan, the other documents are said to be from the Park Street police station area.

Visa Business and Travel Vlogging on Social Media

Kolkata Police detectives have also thoroughly investigated Shanta Pal’s social media accounts. Many more sensational information has been found from there. According to Lalbazar sources, a search of her social media pages showed that she used to give various advice to Bangladeshi citizens to get visas to India. Especially after last August, when tourist visas were stopped for Bangladeshi citizens, she used to advise them to apply for medical visas to come to this country.

Lalbazar sources also said that Shanta had opened a social media page called ‘Asan Travels Kolkata and Bangladesh’ and was promoting her tourism business there. In addition, investigators are also investigating whether she had taken a loan from a state-owned bank in India to open a hotel, based on the arrestee’s Facebook post.

Additionally, her social media posts show that she has visited various important tourist destinations in India, including Digha and Gangtok in Sikkim. As a travel vlogger, she also visited Nathu La and took pictures and videos of the India-Nepal-China border there.

Similarity with Jyoti Malhotra: Speculation of espionage is growing

Investigators are finding similarities between Shanta’s travel pattern and Jyoti Malhotra’s modus operandi. Jyoti also used to travel to different parts of India in the guise of a travel vlogger and smuggled her photos and videos to Pakistan, as she was working as a Pakistani spy. Is Shanta Pal also a spy for a foreign power? This question is now the biggest puzzle for the Kolkata Police.

Although the Kolkata Police is reluctant to comment publicly on this matter. A senior officer of the Kolkata Police’s Intelligence Department, who did not want to be named, said, “The more Shanta Pal is being interrogated, the more important new information is coming out from him, which is surprising. The whole matter needs to be examined and verified more thoroughly.” The police have paid close attention to unraveling this mystery, as it may also involve the security of the country.
