Amid rising tensions in the region following the Pahalgam terror attack, India issued a clear diplomatic message to Turkey, emphasizing that sustainable bilateral relations must be built on mutual respect for each other’s core concerns. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said during a press briefing that India expects Turkey to use its influence over Pakistan to press for concrete and verifiable action against cross-border terrorism.

“We expect the government of Turkey to convey to Pakistan the urgency of dismantling the terror infrastructure it has supported and harbored for decades,” Jaiswal stated.

India Alleges Turkish Drone Involvement in Attacks

Tensions escalated further after Indian security forces reportedly recovered evidence suggesting Turkish-made drones were used in attacks targeting military assets and civilians. Preliminary analysis points to the use of Asisguard Songar drones; unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) manufactured in Turkey that are capable of surveillance and precision targeting.

The revocation, carried out by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), cited national security interests.
