‘Not A Single Eligible Voter Will Be Deleted’ Delhi CEO Assures On Draft Voter List

New Delhi: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi has given a big assurance to the voters regarding the draft electoral roll published after Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

In an official statement, the CEO office said that not a single eligible voter’s name will be deleted from the list, clearing the air amid rising questions and political row over the draft list.

The CEO office clarified that during the house-to-house verification, voters who were found absent, permanently shifted, dead or having duplicate entries have been marked under the ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate) category. This is a standard process to clean the voter list.

Further, the cases where enumeration forms were not available have been categorized into five groups:

1. Dead

2. Absent / Untraceable

3. Permanently Shifted

4. Already Enrolled at other place

5. Others

What if your Name is Missing?

If your name is not in the draft list, you need not worry. The CEO office said.

Eligible voters whose names have been left out can file their claims and objections till 30th September 2026.

After hearing all claims and objections, the final voter list will be published on 4th November 2026.

The CEO Office has also responded to the letters written by Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Both parties had raised objections and concerns over the SIR exercise. The Commission has replied to them separately, answering all their queries in detail.
