DELHI CANT : Speeding Thar Crushes Bike, Two Dead, Driver Arrested_

New Delhi:_ In yet another hit-and-run case, A speeding Thar crushed two people on a bike in Delhi Cantt area on Tuesday evening. Both died on the spot.

The accident happened around 5 PM on September 2 near the IOC Red Light in Delhi Cantt.

A bike with two people (a man and a woman, aged 45-50) slipped on the road. At the same moment, a Mahindra Thar coming from behind hit them. The collision was so strong that both died.

Both victims were employees of NDMC, Lodi Road and were returning home to Sector-1, Dwarka after duty.

After the accident, the Thar driver tried to flee, but locals caught him with the vehicle and handed him over to the police.

Delhi Cantt police reached the spot, took the bodies for post-mortem and started investigation.

Police have registered FIR No. 505/26 under BNS sections 281 and 106(a) and arrested the driver.

The accused has been identified as Bhupendra (26)_, resident of Jhajjar, Haryana. He runs a milk booth in Rohini.

DCP South West Amit Goyal_ said CCTV footage is being checked and eyewitnesses are being questioned to find out the exact cause of the accident and the speed of the Thar.

The incident has once again raised questions on rash driving in Delhi.
