News Source : The Economic Times

A voter awareness programme at Womenโ€™s Christian College in Kalighat, South Kolkata, was held as part of a statewide initiative by the Election Commission of India (ECI) with the West Bengal CEO and DEO offices. Students, Electoral Literacy Club members and Booth Level Officers took part in activities like the Voterโ€™s Pledge, launch of a voterโ€™s guide and a โ€œDemocracy Wall,โ€ in the presence of officials including Randhir Kumar (IAS), Apurva Kumar Singh and Arindam Niyogi, along with SVEEP teams and NVD awardees.

The campaign focuses on increasing participation, especially among youth and first-time voters, and aims to create a festive atmosphere around elections under the theme โ€œChunav ka Parv, Paschim Bengal ka Garv.โ€ It will also include cultural outreach using forms like Chhau, Jatra and Kalighat art at key locations across Kolkata and other districts.
