Trump Defends Iran Strike, Says “I Got Khamenei Before He Got Me”

Donald Trump’s defense of a military strike on Iran that reportedly killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has caused a lot of controversy around the world. Trump told American media outlets in almost ten interviews that the move was a preemptive action. He said he did it before an alleged Iranian threat against him could happen. His repeated phrase, “I got Khamenei before he got me,” has become the most important part of his media outreach.

Trump framed the strike as part of his larger story about foreign policy, saying that he had already “solved” several international problems and was now working on a ninth. But reports say that his explanations changed from interview to interview, from saying he was worried about assassination threats to saying he was worried about Iran’s nuclear plans. Critics say that the changing reasons have made people wonder how clear and consistent the administration’s strategy is.

The event has made geopolitical tensions worse and started debates in the US and around the world. Supporters say the move shows strong leadership, but opponents have questioned the logic behind it and what will happen in the long run if the conflict with Iran gets worse. As diplomatic and political reactions happen around the world, things keep changing.
