Molestation Allegation in Domjur: Victim’s Brother Beaten for Protesting, Police Launch Probe

Howrah : Tension spread in the Salap Pakuria area adjacent to Domjur police station in Howrah district over allegations of molestation of a young woman. Several individuals have been accused of assaulting the young woman’s brother when he went to protest.

According to sources, on Sunday afternoon a young woman was standing on the road when a few men, allegedly in an intoxicated state, confronted her. They are accused of making abusive remarks and indecent proposals toward her. The victim has also alleged that she was molested. When her brother tried to protest, he was reportedly brutally beaten, resulting in a head injury.

A complaint has been filed by the victims at Domjur police station, following which an investigation is underway.
