Delhi Bomb Blast Probe: Deleted WhatsApp Chats Reveal Accused Doctor’s Desperate Money Pleas 

The investigation of the November 10, Red Fort bomb blast, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recovered deleted WhatsApp chats from the phone of the accused doctor Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather revealing repeated and urgent pleas for money in the weeks leading up to the attack. 

The chats, dated between September 5 and 9, 2025, show that Dr Adeel persistently requested a salary advance from a senior at the Saharanpur hospital where he had been employed since March this year. 

Despite earning a reported monthly salary of ₹4.10 lakh, he appeared to be under severe financial strain, writing messages such as “in dire need of money” and “please do it tomorrow… I’m in very need, sir.” 

Investigators believe , this financial distress may have played a major role in the funding of the terror plot, with Dr Adeel suspected of contributing around ₹8 lakh towards the estimated ₹26 lakh used to execute the car bombing. 

During interrogation, co-accused doctors allegedly referred to him as the “treasurer,” indicating his central role in managing the module’s finances. 

After his arrest on November 6, authorities recovered weapons and explosives from locations linked to him, prompting further raids across Delhi, Faridabad and other regions. 

Officials said that the retrieved chats give critical evidence that could help trace the financial network behind the attack and unravel the wider conspiracy. 

The investigation continues as agencies work to map the full chain of fund flow, coordination and execution behind the Delhi Bomb blast.
