Actor Dharmendra Deol passes away at the age of 89; Film Faternity and Nation Mourn the Loss

Bollywood icon Dharmendra, fondly known as the “ He- Man “ of Indian cinema, passed away on 24 November, 2025 at the age of 89. The veteran actor had recently been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on 12 November and was reportedly recovering at home. He would have turned 90 on 8th December.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid an emotional tribute, calling Dharmendra a “legend whose warmth and artistry touched millions.” Members of the film industry, including Hema Malini, Esha Deol, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, arrived to pay their last respects at the funeral.
Dharmendra, whose career spanned over six decades, delivered numerous memorable performances in classics such as Ankhen, Shikar, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke, Jeevan Mrityu, Mera Gaon Mera Desh and Seeta Aur Geeta. He was celebrated for his versatility, effortless charm and enduring influence on generations of actors and film lovers.
The actor was last seen in the 2024 film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and was slated to appear in Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming war drama Ikkis
Dharmendra leaves behind a monumental legacy that continues to define the golden era of Indian cinema.
