Presidential Voting Begins Nationwide

In Indian democracy, the Presidential election is unique. It’s conducted through direct electoral college system not just any public voting. States and Parliament are to be fairly represented ensuring each vote carries a specific value.The voting process is taking place in Parliament house in New Delhi as in state assemblies under the supervision of the Election Commission of India.

To elect the next President of India voting has aleady began today across the country, with elected representives from parliament and state assemblies casting their ballots. From across the country the sealed ballot boxes will be brought to New Delhi, where the counting will take place. No electronic voting voting machines instead ballot papers are being used in keeping with the tradition of the Presidential polls.

In India’s democracy this is considered a landmark day as the 14th Presidential term nears its end and the nation prepares to welcome it’s new Head of State. The electotal college is formed by more than 4,800 MP’s & MLA’s which altogether decides the outcome of Presidential election. Regional influence, party strategies and poltical alliances all play a role in the outcome.

In the coming days, the results are expected to be announced. At Rashtrapati Bhavan, the elected candidate will take oath stepping into the constitution and the symbol of national unity. Today’s vote for millions of Indians is not just a political event-it is a reminder of how democracy thrives when institutions, leaders, and people come together to decide the future of the nation.
