Tanu Weds Manu 3 Future Uncertain Amid Ownership Battle

8 September-Kolkata, India: Once again, Tanu Weds Manu 3 is set to see the reunion of Indian actors Kangana Ranaut and ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ actor R Madhavan after the huge success of both films, ‘Tanu Weds Manu‘ in 2011 and its sequel ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ in 2015. But, according to the information, the third sequel is at risk after Eros International filed a lawsuit against the ‘Raanjhanaa’ director Aanand L.Rai, who is now asserting full control over the film franchise.

The Eros International group also stated that they intents to move the franchise forward with its seperate project. The conflict started after ‘Raanjhanaa’ director Aanand L. Rai and Indian actor Dhanush criticised the creators of ‘Raanjhanaa’ for using AI to create an alternate ending.

Dhanush also highlighted on the issue and posted on his official X where he stated “The re-release of Raanjhanaa with an Al-altered climax has completely disturbed me. This alternate ending has stripped the film of its very soul, and the concerned parties went ahead with it despite my clear objection.”

He further added that “This is not the film I committed to 12 years ago. The use of Al to alter films or content is a deeply concerning precedent for both art and artists.”

About the stalled movie Tanu Weds Manu 3

A source shared the details of the movie with Pinkvilla a year ago. The source said “Itโ€™s a sequel in true sense and the makers have come across a story that organically leads itself to a trilogy. Staying true to the world of part one and two, the third instalment too will be a blend of humor with romance and drama.”

It further added that Kangana Ranaut is excited to explore the first triple role of her career, and is awaiting a complete narration from Aanand L Rai. The film will give her the opportunity to dive into new shades of a performer.”

Kangana Ranaut started her Bollywood career with Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja in the 2006 Anurag Basu’s blockbuster film ‘Gangster’. After that, she established herself one of the finest actors in the Bollywood film industry delivering hits like ‘Queen’, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’ and ‘Shootout in Wadala’ etc but later her career took a bad turn after she got into politics and a year ago she also promised that she was about to quit acting if she had won the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

Ranaut also stated “The film world is a lie, everything there is fake. They create a very different environment. It is a glossy world like a fake bubble which is to attract the audience.”
