The tragedy occurred at Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in Madhya Pradesh. The infant, only a few days old, was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for treatment. According to the family, they noticed injuries on the child’s body that appeared to be rat bites.

Doctors confirmed the injuries and soon after, the baby’s condition worsened. Despite medical efforts, the newborn could not survive. The parents broke down in grief, accusing the hospital of negligence and demanding strict action against those responsible.
