Police Raid Placement Agency, Uncover Massive Human Trafficking Operation

New Delhi, August 28, 2025 — Delhi Police and Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted a trafficking network that preyed on minors by drugging them and selling them for exploitation. The operation led to the rescue of three girls, including two aged 13 and 15, and the arrest of four men who ran the racket across state lines. The case came to light after the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit followed months of digital and physical leads that finally exposed the gang’s methods.

How the Investigation Began

The probe started in December 2024, when a family in Delhi reported that their teenage daughters had gone missing. Police registered a case at Bhalswa Dairy police station and soon transferred it to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, given the sensitive nature of the disappearance. Officers initially had very little to work with apart from the girls’ last known contacts, but investigators pushed forward with surveillance and technical monitoring.

By June 15, 2025, the first breakthrough arrived. Investigators traced the missing minors to Srinagar through mobile tower dumps and intercepted calls. Working alongside J&K Police, they mounted a rescue operation and recovered two of the girls. Their testimonies revealed harrowing details of how traffickers had kept them drugged, shifted them between multiple hideouts, and attempted to sell them to clients in the Valley.

Four Arrests, Fake IDs, and a Network Exposed

After piecing together the children’s accounts, police set their sights on the gang’s leaders. On August 27, 2025, a joint operation in Delhi and Srinagar led to the arrest of four accused: Salim-ul-Rehman alias Wasim, Suraj, Mohammad Talib, and Satnam Singh. During searches, police found a forged Uttar Pradesh Police identity card, sedatives used to incapacitate the girls, and phones containing transaction records that hinted at wider trafficking links.

Investigators believe the accused had trafficked several other minors in the past and sold them using the same formula of abduction, sedation, and relocation. The scale of their activities points toward a larger racket with connections beyond Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.

A Trail of Leads and Relentless Surveillance

The case reached this stage because officers refused to stop at the first rescue. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit kept studying financial transfers, WhatsApp chats, and travel routes between Delhi and Srinagar. With every lead, they unearthed more evidence of coordination, and the recovery of the third victim during the August raids further validated the months-long strategy.

Police officials confirmed that the investigation remains open. They are tracing money that appears to have moved through hawala channels and identifying others who may have purchased forged IDs to aid the gang’s movement.
