DRDO Guest House Manager in Jaisalmer Arrested for Spying for ISI

Jaisalmer, Rajasthan – In a major security breach ahead of Independence Day, Rajasthan CID Intelligence has arrested a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) guest house manager on charges of spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Espionage Uncovered in Rajasthan

Authorities revealed that Mahendra Prasad, 32, a resident of Palyun in Almora, Uttarakhand, was working as a contractual manager at the DRDO Guest House near the Chandan Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer. Investigations suggest he maintained contact with ISI operatives through social media, allegedly sending them confidential details about the movements of DRDO scientists and Indian Army officers during missile and weapons testing.

Intelligence Agencies Close In

The suspect was placed under surveillance during a state-level security sweep. Following credible leads, multiple intelligence agencies interrogated Prasad at the Central Interrogation Centre in Jaipur. His mobile phone underwent technical analysis, reportedly confirming the transfer of sensitive military data to Pakistan-based handlers.

Official Confirmation

Inspector General of Police (CID Security) Dr. Vishnukant stated that the arrest was part of proactive measures to counter anti-national activities. “With Independence Day approaching, our teams are on high alert to neutralise any threats from foreign intelligence networks,” he said.

Legal Action

A case has been registered under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and Prasad has been taken into custody. He is scheduled to be presented before the court today, where police will seek his remand for further interrogation.
