Massive Protest Erupts Outside Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu Over Pahalgam Terror Attack

Kathmandu, 26 April 2025: A large-scale protest broke out today outside the Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal, as enraged Nepali citizens condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 innocent lives, including that of a Nepali national, Sundeep Neupane.ย
Citizens Demand Justice for Victims
Protesters held banners and posters demanding justice for the victims. Many called on Pakistan to stop supporting terrorist groups and to take responsibility for the attack. Protesters prominently displayed slogans such as “Justice for Sundeep Neupane” and “Stop Terrorism” during the demonstration.ย “We demand that Pakistan dismantle terror networks operating from its soil. One of the protest leaders declared, “We will not forget the blood of our brother,” during the rally.
Nepal Strongly Condemns the Attack
The Government of Nepal has already condemned the Pahalgam attack, calling it a “barbaric act of terror,” and expressed solidarity with India. In todayโs protest, leaders of civil society groups said that Nepal stands united against terrorism and will continue to seek justice for the victims.
Security Tightened Around Embassy
Authorities tightened security around the embassy to maintain peace during the protest. The event remained peaceful but showed strong emotions from the crowd.
Death of Sundeep Neupane Sparks Nationwide Grief
Civil society groups, student unions, and ordinary citizens attended todayโs demonstration, vowing to continue the campaign until justice is served.
The Pahalgam terror attack happened earlier this week when militants attacked civilians, killing 26 and injuring many others. A group called Kashmir Resistance has claimed responsibility, with reports suggesting links to Pakistan-based terrorist organizations.
